T1Zine

A Zine by and for the T1D Community

So, what is T1Zine? A zine (pronounced “zeen”) is a collection of text, images, artwork, or other creative mediums that helps express a message. After learning about zines and getting to create one during her undergrad, DHF program facilitator Rav wanted to put together a diabetes-related zine (for a very long time!) created by the T1D community for anyone interested in learning more about diabetes. And that’s what we did.

This project has brought people together to talk about topics that aren’t often addressed, and it’s a great way to get your stories out there and to learn from and lean on each other. With the help of our DHF community across Canada, each page honours the contributors’ personal journeys with T1D, showcasing their authenticities through original visual art and writing.

At DHF, we always encourage everyone to share their experiences and insights, as every voice adds depth to our community. Together, we are creating a space where understanding and empathy thrive, fostering connections that empower us all. If you want to participate in an upcoming zine, please reach out to Zine Editor Rav.
